Wednesday is my day for catching up with friends, so typically I make lunch in the house. Today however we were celebrating the end of my friends exams, so we ate out. I of course managed to forget a camera, even left my phone behind. Apologies.
We went to Sakura on Botanic Ave, we each got a main from the lunch menu and some sushi from the train. I went for chicken teriyaki, which came with some lovely vegetables (I love lotus root and water chestnut) and boiled rice, my friend had wonton noodle soup, with ramen noodles. Both were delicious. We split a little selection of nigiri sushi as a starter (we both love the smoked salmon, though she prefers the salmon california roll which has the outside coated in roe). The food is good value on their lunch menu, and the sushi is reasonable during the day as well, though prices do go up for evening service. I like the atmosphere but the real appeal is the novelty of the sushi train (I'm a big child at heart).

The Giant had spaghetti with spicy tomato sauce topped with cheese, he took a few slices of bread and an apple along with him to bulk it out. He snapped a pic before running on to work.
Trying out a new cheese this week, we usually have parmesan to go with our pasta but I fancied a change and grabbed 'Grana Padano', best idea I have had in a long time. It's gorgeous, melts great into risotto and has enough flavour to not be lost, even on my spicy sauces. If you havent tried it then I recommend you do.
